Lucy Jones

Lucy Jones, age 92 of Thousandsticks, KY, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Mary Breckinridge A.R.H Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William "Billy" Osborne and the late Jane Rice Osborne. Lucy enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, gardening and most importantly, being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She loved Easter, Christmas and her birthday parties. Lucy joined church and was saved as a young girl, she was of the Holiness faith. Other than her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by: Her husband: Willie Jones; two sons: Kermit and Roy Jones; brothers: Sim, Gillie and James Osborne; sisters: Mary Jones, Molly Sizemore, Laura Howard, Hallie Sizemore and Emily Gibson; daughter-in-law: Margaret Williams. She leaves surviving, four sons: Felix Jones (Leona) of Richmond, KY, Sherman Jones (Sally Faye) of Somerset, KY, Kenneth Ray Jones of Thousandsticks, KY, and Paul Jones (Anna Carol) of Thousandsticks, KY; honorary son: Paul Couch (Linda Faye) of Thousandsticks, KY; five daughters: Molly Holland (Homer) of London, KY, Bessie Collins (Robert), Clara "Wilma" Chandler (Abner "Red"), Brenda Jones, all of Thousandsticks, KY and Christine Gregory (James) of London, KY; one brother: Carl Osborne (Mallie) of Thousandsticks, KY; one sister: Dallie Osborne (Golden) of Thousandsticks, KY; thirteen grandchildren: Robert Douglas Collins, Gracie Marlene Zollinger, Shelia Day, Dawn Sandlin, Robin Napier, Keith Jones, Jessica Eversole, Christopher Jones, Brandon Collins, Erica Ward, Willie Ray Daniel Jones, Tori Jones, Abbey Jones; seventeen great - grandchildren: Cody Collins, Brittnii Collins, Austin Mosher, Troy Allen Day, Jerrica Day, Haley Brashear, Austin Jones, Emily Jones, Ashley Jones, Jacob Paul Zollinger, Kaidsyn Napier, Kenley Napier, Courtney Collins, Kailyn Ward, Conner Ward, and 3 great-great grandchildren, those being Briella Collins, Ayden Bowling, Logan Roy Collins. Three grandchildren she raised as her own Sheila Day (James), Jessica Lynn Eversole (Bill), Christopher Glen Jones (Tanya). Care givers: Shirley Lowe and Danella Wooton; special care givers: Anna Carol Jones, Clara Chandler, Kenny Jones, Christine Gregory, Brenda Jones, Sheila Day, and Bessie Collins; special friend: Twila Osborne; A host of other friends and relatives also survive her passing. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of the Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Amundsen, and Rev. Roger Wolfe, and Bro. John Newell Officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery at Thousandsticks, Ky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. The following will serve as pallbearers: Paul Couch, James Gregory, Jeffery Zollinger, Jacob Paul Zollinger, Douglas Collins, Christopher Jones, Keith Jones, Brian Napier, Nathan Couch, Troy Day, Sid Jackson and James Day. The Thousandsticks Fire Department members will serve as honorary pallbearers: John Newell, Kevin Cook, Frank Wayne Baker, Michael Feltner, Purl Lewis, Therman Lewis, George Adams, Roger Wolfe, Kyle Wolfe, Robert Amundson, Brandon Collins, Buddy Roberts, Frank Wayne Baker II, Debbie Hoskins, Bill & Delaina Baker, Joyell & Eric Anderson and other members of the Thousandsticks Fire Department. The family would like to express their sincere appreciations to Dr. Chatterjee and Staff, Dr. Varghese, Dr. Sharma, and all of the staff of the Mary Breckinridge A.R.H Hospital.
