Lula "Dempsey" Faye Lewis, age 70 of Wooton, Kentucky, widow of the late Mathias Lewis, passed away peacefully Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.   She was the daughter of the late Estil And Hannah Adams Coots.  Lula was affiliated with the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY.   She enjoyed fishing with her late husband, traveling, working with flowers, and her pets.   Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.   Lula was a homemaker and by occupation, she worked as a Nurse Aid. Lula was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mathias;  a great granddaughter, Celeste Rosa Lee Walter;  three brothers, Culton, Sam, and Rubin Coots;  two sisters, Odean Coots, and Edna Smallwood.

Lula leaves behind, three beloved sons, Paul Dean Lewis and wife, Becky of Wooton, Kentucky, Jerry Lee Lewis of Florida, and Wilson Lewis of Wooton, Kentucky;  two beloved daughters, Helen Pennington and husband, Robert of Yeaddiss, KY, and Sarah Pinson and husband, Dwayne of West Virginia;  thirteen cherished grandchildren, Amanda White, Samantha Walter, Tracy Hall, Dereck Rowe, Savannah Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Jordon Lewis, Kennedy Lewis, MaKayla Lewis, Josh Lewis, Savannah K. Lewis, William Lewis, and Jay Lewis;  seven cherished great-grandchildren, Keegan Hall, Ava Kate Hall, Masin Walter, Payzlee Walter, John Thomas Rowe, Emma Kate Rowe and Baylor Rowe.  A host of other family and friends also survive.
