Mack Miniard

February 7, 1928 — March 27, 2017

Mack Miniard, of Cutshin Road, Wooton, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the age of 89. Mack was born February 07, 1928 in Cutshin to the union of the late John C. and Parlee Davidson Miniard. He was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Emma on April 02, 1949. Emma preceded him in death on October 01, 2012. He had been a native of Leslie County with the exception of having lived in Pontiac Michigan for a short time. While living in Michigan, Mack was employed by General Motors Company. Until becoming disabled, Mack worked as a coal miner. He was a devoted member of the Smilax Church of Christ at Polls Creek. Mack helped built the church and was the co-founder, along with his wife, Emma of the Wooton Volunteer Fire Department. Mack had a great work ethic and took pride and enjoyment in any task he took on. He liked to stay busy, whether it was feeding and bathing birds or working in his garden. In addition to his parents and wife, Emma, Mack is preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Miniard, two sisters, Georgia Causey and Fannie Roberts.

Mack leaves behind, five beloved children, Lonnie Wayne Miniard and wife, Connie of Louisville, KY, Roger Wayne Miniard of Wooton, KY, Carol Jean Foutch of Paintsville, KY, Joan Williams and husband, Larry of Wooton, KY and Janice Tyndall and husband, George of Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Other survivors include, a sister, Celia Stidham of Viper, KY, seven cherished grandchildren, Shannon Miniard, Kim Miniard, Kellee Hinkle, William Foutch, Roger Mack Miniard, Joan Marie Engle, and Erica Miniard; also, nine great-grandchildren, church family and friends survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Danny Day and Harold Turner officiating. Burial will follow at the Lewis-Creech Cemetery. Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
