Marcella Green

Marcella Green began her journey of life on January 27, 1930 in Leslie County, Kentucky.  She was born to the late Albert and Mallie Brock Templeton.  At the age of six, she moved from Leslie County to reside in Vicco, Kentucky.

Marcella was a loving and devoted wife to the late Silas Slone and Kelly Green.  She was an exceptional mother to her thirteen children, three whom greeted her in Heaven; Junior Slone, Edith Slone and Jimmy Slone;  She leaves here on earth the following ten children, Alger Slone, Archie Slone & Crystal, Betty Green & Rick, Mary Green Albert Slone, James Slone & Jamie, Shirley Maggard & Johnny, Clara Bell Watson & Bill, Gloria Sumner and Teresa Messer.  As well as two sisters, Marlene Sergent and Trish Centers; forty eight grandchildren, sixty one great- grandchildren, and then some!  As many can attest from the smile on her face, she was a loved "Grandma"!

Marcella was a lover of all things big and small.  She loved to collect stuffed animals and "Whatnots".  She also loved a cold Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper and a Hersey's candy bar.  To many a surprise, she kept hidden in the freezer, as she was a type I diabetic.

Marcella will be remembered for her beautiful smile, caring heart and joyful spirit.

Marcella was called home on Saturday, December 19, 2020.  She was 90 years old.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. - Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Slone Cemetery at Vicco, Kentucky with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating.  The interment will follow.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
