Mr. Marion "Tootsie" Fields, 85 of Granny Fork Road, Smilax, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 22, 1933 in Smilax, Kentucky to the union of the late Bradley and Matilda Fields. He was united in marriage to Cynthia Cody on April 04, 1957. By occupation, "Tootsie" was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Maces Creek Church of Christ at Viper, Kentucky. Marion enjoyed attending church, riding his four-wheeler and hunting.
In addition to his parents, "Tootsie" was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Cynthia Fields; two brothers, Buster and Leonard; four sisters, Hazel, Georgia, Nannie, and Wilma; a son-in-law, Tim Surer.
Marion "Tootsie" Fields leaves behind four beloved sons, Marion Fields, Jr. (Glenda), Darnell Fields (Gail), Charles Christopher Fields (Judy) and Joey Dwight Fields (Terri), all of Smilax, KY; two beloved daughters, Pauline Davidson (Roger) and Darlene Surer, both of Smilax, KY; one brother, Leroy Fields of Somerset, KY; three sisters, Abbie Combs of Tazwell, TN, Thelma Day of Smilax, KY and Bonnie Skeens of Wooton, KY; twelve cherished grandchildren and 19 cherished great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Monday, January 15, 2018 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Fields Family Cemetery at Smilax. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 A.M., until the funeral hour at 12Noon, Monday at the funeral home chapel.
