M ark Gay Rice of Saul, Kentucky was born December 23, 1956 in Saul, Kentucky to the union of the late Luther “Stick” Rice and Opal Gay Rice.  Mark departed this walk of life on Wednesday, May 09, 2018 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center at the age of 61.  Mark had been a life-long resident of Saul, Kentucky with the exception of having spent some of his formative years in Indiana.  By occupation, Mark was a log Sawyer for Gay Brothers Logging.  Mark was an avid Corn Hole player, winning many tournaments.  He enjoyed drag racing, bowling, hunting and fishing as his hobbies.  Marks greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by one nephew, Travis Rice.

Survivors include, two sons, Tyler Rice (Kayla) of Indiana, and Craig Rice (Tiffany) of Columbus, IN;  one daughter, Christy Kinker (Andy) of Greensburg, IN;  six brothers, Robert Lee Rice (Ollie Jean) of Saul, KY, Ronald Wayne Rice (Renita Mullis) of Saul, KY, Michael Carl Rice of Taylorsville, IN, Luther Jack Rice of Saul, KY, Emory O’Donald Rice (Georgia) of Manchester, KY, and Lucas McCane Rice of Saul, KY;  five cherished grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
