Martha Asher (Deaton) Combs

Martha Faye Deaton Asher Combs was born October 13, 1951 in Clay County, a daughter of the late James Burkey Deaton and the late Etta Barger Deaton.  She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Brutus Baptist Church.  She was a homemaker and a former truck driver.  Martha had a love for flowers and enjoyed working in her flower garden.  She departed this life on January 07, 2020.  She was 69 years old.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Abner; a brother, Donald Deaton; three sisters, Joann Wells, Elizabeth Gibson and Alice C. Arnett.

Martha leaves behind, one son, Kenneth Abner (Belinda) of Oneida, KY; two daughters, Karen Feltner (Eric) of Oneida, KY and Mary Lane (Joe) of Science Hill, KY; two brothers, Jimmy Deaton and Carl Deaton, both of Oneida, KY; two sisters, Billie Jean Barger of Manchester, KY and Janet Abner of Corbin, KY; seven grandchildren, eight great – grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday at the Brutus Baptist Church with Bob Rice officiating.  Interment will follow in the family cemetery at Oneida.  The family will receive friends at the Brutus Baptist Church after 6 p.m. – Monday evening.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
