Mildred Gabbard Sizemore

Mildred Gabbard Sizemore of Hyden, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Monday, August 29, 2016 at her residence. She was 85 years, 08 months and 26 days of age at the time of her passing. Mildred was born December 03, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH to the union of the late Andrew and Goldie Murrell Gabbard. She spent her younger years in Cincinnati and had been a resident of Leslie County since her marriage to her beloved husband, John L. Sizemore. She was a retired employee of the Leslie County Fiscal Court. Mildred enjoyed sewing, quilting, feeding the birds and most importantly, spending time with her family who she loved so much.

In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John L. Sizemore, one son, George Andrew "Baker" Sizemore, siblings, Jessie Gabbard, Bill Gabbard, Violet Smith, Imajane McFarland and Wanda Casey.

Survivors include four loving daughters, Carolyn Howard & Mickey Ray of Hyden, KY, Barbara Sizemore & Bobby of London, KY, Wanda Whitaker & Gary of London, KY, Marlene Hoskins & Bobby of Asher, KY and Kelly Williams & Randy of Hyden, KY; one sister, Eileen Sizemore of Hyden, KY; fourteen cherished grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild to be. special niece, Joan Sizemore; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 02, 2016 in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Joe Burns and Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sizemore Family Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky with the following serving as pallbearers: Seth Melton, Russell Melton, L.J. Turner, Randy Williams, Kevin Gay, Carlton Hoskins, Jamie Sizemore and Michael Whitaker. The Sizemore family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M., Thursday evening at Wolfe & Sons chapel.
