M illie Wells was born on August 31, 1932 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the union of the late Charlie and Minnie Stamper Caudill. She departed this walk of life on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center at Hazard, Kentucky at the age of 85. Millie was a homemaker and had been a resident of Leslie County since the age of 16, when she married her beloved husband, Odell Wells on September 11, 1932. Millie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and playing the role as grandmother. Millie enjoyed embroidery, reading and painting ceramics with her daughter. She also enjoyed canning the food her husband Odell harvested from the garden.
In addition to her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Odell Wells; one son, Jerry Wells; one still born son, Larry Wells; son-in-law, Ronald Duff; one brother, H.B. Caudill; three sisters, Reneva Barrett, Gertrude Combs, and Colleen Caudill.
Millie leaves behind, two sons, Kenneth Wells & wife, Marlene, and Gary Wells, both of Smilax, KY; three daughters, Betty Webb, Charlene Doughtery & husband, David, Laurena Duff, and Irene Fugate & husband, David, all of Smilax, KY; two brothers, I.D. Caudill and Paul Caudill & wife, Pat, both of Isom, KY; three sisters, Loretta Sexton of Letcher Co., KY, Elsie Adams of Letcher Co., KY, and Peggy Whitaker & husband, Reulah of Russell Springs, KY; six cherished grandchildren, Ronda Sizemore & husband, Jimmy, Shawn Webb & wife, Kirsten, Jason Duff, Jerrica Sizemore & husband, Jonathon, Angelica Stacy & husband, Josh, and Sanchari Fugate; nine cherished great-grandchildren, Lexi Webb, Ezra Webb, Maven Webb, Emerson Webb, Austin Sizemore, J.T. Sizemore, Reanna Duff, Clinton Stacy, and Jerran Sizemore; loving daughter-in-law, Polly Wells of Hazard, KY; special friends, Margaret Slone, Rebecca Day, and Wilma Moody. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
