Mr. Johnny Ray Kilburn, born December 26, 1955 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Oscar Kilburn and the late Nannie Thomas Kilburn. Johnny passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, April 07, 2012. He was 56 years, 3 months and 12 days of age at the time of his passing. Johnny Ray was a life long resident of Leslie County, KY and by occupation was a truck driver. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Leona Day Kilburn on November 15, 1974. He enjoyed, going to church, fishing, family outings and hunting with his grandchildren. Most importantly he enjoyed lending a helping hand in the community. His genuine concern for the community was evident. Johnny was a member of the Wooton Volunteer Fire Department, where he was currently serving as chief. Johnny had been a member of the department for over 22 years. He was also member of the Wooton Community Worship Center at Wooton, KY. Johnny was preceded in death by: his parents Mr. Johnny Ray Kilburn leaves the following relatives surviving: His loving and devoted wife: Leona Day Kilburn of Wooton, KY; Two beloved daughters: Tonda Lee Pennington and Everett and Mary Kilburn and Conway, both of Wooton, KY; One sister: Martha Howard and Shane of Dryhill, KY; Two grandchildren: Johnathon Michael Pennington and Doralee Caudill; Special Companion: "Tobey".
