Mr. Rufus Cornett

Mr. Rufus Cornett, born May 24, 1953 in Harlan County, KY to the union of the late Wilson & Nancy Jane Baker Cornett. He departed this life on Monday, November 28, 2011 at his residence. He was 58 years of age and was residing at 74 Cornett Drive, Yeaddiss, KY at the time of his passing. Rufus was a life long resident of Leslie County and by occupation was a retired coal miner. He enjoyed, fishing, camping, four-wheeler riding and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Rufus is preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Elmer Cornett and two sisters: Annalene Williams and Carol Shepherd.Mr. Rufus Cornett leaves the following relatives surviving: His loving and devoted wife: Alice Cornett of Yeaddiss, Ky, six sons: Dwayne Longstreath & Trina of Troy, OH, Scott Edward Cornett, Ronald Longstreath, Ishmael Cornett & Becky, Doug Longstreath & Tabitha all of Letcher County and Chris Longstreath & Sue of Urbana, OH. Two daughters: Tonya Combs and Amanda Tackett & Shawn, both of Letcher County. Three brothers: Milford Cornett & Patsy, Rondal Cornett & Nadine and Wilson Cornett, Jr. & Vanessa, all of Yeaddiss, KY. Six sisters: Gail Harwood & Lloyd of Cythiana, KY, Judith Cornett of Hazard, KY, Evelyn Nash & Bill of Corbin, KY, Yvonne Sanders & Curt of Corbin, KY, Wanda Couch & Bethel of Letcher County and Jayna Wooton of London, KY. 23 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives & friends also survive.
