Mrs. Grace Cornett

Ms. Grace Lillian Cornett, born April 21, 1923 in Greensboro, NC , the daughter of the late Mammie Branson. She past away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. She was 89 years, 05 months and 05 days of age at the time of her passing. She spent her formative years in North Carolina and Washington, D.C. until moving to KY. She was currently residing at 17 Puncheon Camp Road, Hyden, KY . She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching "Gun Smoke" and "Bonanza" . She is preceded in death by her mother: Mammie Branson Cheek; husband: Bill Cornett; 1- son: William "Pup" Cornett; 1 daughter: Carol Ann Day; 1- great granddaughter: Ashley Dawn Sams; 1 - sister: Mary Ray; special friends: Carolyn Lewis and Mary Rose Cornett. Ms. Grace L. Cornett leaves the following relatives surviving: 4 - beloved daughters: Judy Whitehead and husband, Taylor of Lexington, KY, Ruth Collins and husband, Jackson of Hyden, KY, Donya Cornett of Hyden, KY and Teena Garrison and husband, Greg of Stinnett, KY; 1 - sister: Billie Jeter of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; Special friends: Oultia Garrison, Glenn Mosley and Therlo Brock; A host of other relatives and friends also survive her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Grace L. Cornett will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2012 from the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Todd Roberts and Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Cornett Cemetery at Hyden, KY. The family of Ms. Cornett will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
