Mrs. Loretta Roberts

Mrs. Loretta Vernon Roberts, born February 08, 1954 in Yeaddiss, KY to the union of Janie Clark Vernon of Smilax, KY and the late Boone Vernon. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 03, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. She was 57 Years of age and was residing at 6258 Cutshin Road, Smilax, KY at the time of her passing. Loretta was a life long resident of Leslie County, KY and was greatly devoted to her community. She was a dedicated member of the Cutshin Volunteer Fire Department, where she served as safety officer. She had been a member of the department since 1989. She was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Leslie County Extension Club and a member of the Cutshin Community Center. Loretta was also a loved member of the Hyden Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing as a hobby, but most importantly she enjoyed being involved in the community and helping people. She is preceded in death by her father: Boone Vernon.Mrs. Loretta Roberts leaves the following relatives surviving: Her beloved mother: Janie Clark Vernon of Smilax, KY, her loving and devoted husband: Billy Roberts of Smilax, KY, three brothers: John Vernon of Ohio, Boone Vernon of Smilax, KY and William Vernon of London, KY. One sister: Anne Vernon Hartman & husband, Jay of Ohio. Brother-in-law: Eddie Dean Roberts & wife, Karen and her special pet & companion, Bambi.
