Pauline Lewis Smead

Pauline Lewis Smead, age 60 of Hyden, wife of Alan Smead, passed away Wednesday at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Henry Lewis who survives, and the late Thelma Lewis. She was born March 10, 1956 in Perry County, Kentucky. Pauline was a dedicated employee of the Dairy Queen in Hyden. She enjoyed sitting on the porch, working in her flower beds, and spending time with the family.
Pauline was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Lewis, one brother, Rufus Lewis, and sister, Oma Rutherford.
Survivors include, her husband, Alan Smead of Hyden, Kentucky; father, Henry Lewis of Hyden, Kentucky; two daughters, Tonya Lewis and husband, David of Wooton, Kentucky, and Melissa Bussell and husband, Doug of Hyden, Kentucky; three brothers, Jimmy Lewis and wife, Betty , Garrett Lewis, and Levi Lewis and wife, Lois, all of Hyden, Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Baker of Hyden, Kentucky, Bonnie McDaniel of Hazard, Kentucky, and Joann Palumbo and husband, Bill of Hyden, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bussell, Austin Burkhart, Jacob Lewis, Kevin Lewis, and David Luke Lewis; one great-grandchild, Brylei Mckee.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Wind Chime Haven Cemetery at Wooton, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday.
