Peggy Sue Howard, born November 13, 1958. She was born at home in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Edward and Christine Bingham Mills. She lived most of her life in Hyden with the exception of having lived in Newport, KY for a period of time. By occupation, Peggy was a former Captain - Deputy Jailer for the Leslie County Detention Center where she proudly served for many years. She cherished the time employed at the jail. She loved her co-workers, who became friends, as well as the inmates. She loved coffee and cigarettes. In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed chatting with her friends and family on Facebook, as well as playing Farmville and hidden objects. She enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings and watching the squirrels play. She appreciated a beautiful sunset and the colors in the sky. Sunday was her favorite day. She called it “The best day of the week”. It was a time for a big dinner and time to spend with her children and grandchildren. Above all, she loved people and being involved in the lives of her family and friends.
