Rev. Cova Asher of Thousandsticks, Kentucky, was born August 02, 1929 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Jackson and Bertha Feltner Asher. Cova passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Mary Breckinridge A.R.H. at the age of 87 years old. Cova was a retired coal miner and for the past 40 plus years, he evangelized and was pastor of various churches in Leslie and surrounding counties. He enjoyed hunting, bee keeping, going to guns and knives shows, and spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren. Above all, Cova enjoyed witnessing for the Lord every opportunity he had. In addition to his parents, Cova is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Lula Baker Asher; a beloved daughter, Scarlet Osborne; four brothers, Ed, Crafter, Shelby and Dexter Asher; three sisters, Frances, Orpha, and Betsy.
Cova leaves behind, one son, Carlos Asher (Connie), two sons of his heart, Mark and Terry Osborne, three daughters, Loretta Mosley (Chuck), Katherine Asher, both of Hyden, KY, and Charlotte Dupier (Jim) of Williamsburg, KY; one brother, Amos Asher (Evon) of Mozelle, KY; eleven Grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Asher Cemetery at Thousandsticks, KY. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M., Sunday evening at the funeral home chapel.
