Roscoe (Bull Creek) Salyers

Roscoe (Bull Creek) Salyers, age 76 of Hollons Fork Road, Bear Branch, Kentucky passed away Tuesday night at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Joe Salyers and Ora Osborne Salyers Woods. Roscoe worked as a coal miner for 42 years, most of that time for Shamrock Coal Company. He enjoyed whittling, his cars and trucks, and spending time with his family. Roscoe is survived by one son, Joe Salyers & Marilyn of Bear Branch, Ky.; and daughter Patricia Harris and William Jr. of Middlesboro, Ky. Also three brothers, John Henry Salyers of Bear Branch, Ky., Billy Ray & Wilma Salyers of Hyden, Ky., Estill & Carol Sue Woods of Stinnett, Ky.; Five sisters, Ruth & Clyde Collins of Hyden, Ky., Janie & James Collins of Dayton, Ohio, Margaret & Virgil & Smallwood of Stinnett, Ky. Alice & Carl Brown of Oneida, Ky., Francine & William Caldwell of Stinnett, Ky. also surviving is two grandchildren Joey Salyers & Sabrina Matthews, and three great granchildren Kobe, Gavin & Laryssa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Woods Salyers, Son E.C. Salyers, two brothers Raymond and Herbert Jr. Woods, and one sister Ann Elizabeth Jones. Funeral Services will be conduted at 2 P.M. on Saturday August 03, 2013 at the Bobfork Holiness Church with Jerry Holland and Adam Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the James Jones Cemetery at Bear Branch, Ky. The family will receive friends at the church after 6:00 p.m. Thursday until the funeral hour. The family entrusted Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home to handle all the arrangements..
