Russell Morgan, 86, of Hoskinston, Kentucky departed this walk of life on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
Russell was born January 07, 1938, in Leslie County to the union of the late Elisha and Dallie Smith Morgan.
Russell had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation, Russell was a retired coal miner with more than 34 years of experience. In the last years of his career, he was employed by the Nallie Hamilton Coal Company. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed every day that he was given to work.
Russell loved the Lord and loved going to church. He was a beloved member of the Muncy Creek Holiness Church, as well as the Stinnett Gap Church of God.
On April 04, 1990, Russell married Marilyn Roark Lewis whom he enjoyed his life with and who was devoted to each other until his last breath.
In addition to being a proud coal miner, Russell had many hobbies that he enjoyed: Gardening, and plowing with his tractor was probably his most appreciated hobby; he also enjoyed running heavy equipment.
Russell was an experienced mechanic; whether it be small engine repair or repairing an old car, he would work until the job was completed.
On summer evenings, Russell and Marilyn like to sit on the porch and watch the stars and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
Other than his beloved parents, Russell was preceded in death by his siblings: William, Henry, Kimber, Michael, and Bill Morgan. As well as one sister: Eula L. Howard.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of nearly 34 years, Marilyn Morgan of Hoskinston, KY, daughters: Sandra Lewis of Hyden, KY and Lena Feltner (David) of Wooton, KY.
Other survivors include two siblings: Joe Morgan and Rose Helen Morgan, both of Hoskinston, KY.
As well as his cherished grandchildren: Timothy G. Brock (Brittney), Harold Day, Melinda Day and Frances Whitehead. Two cherished great-grandchildren: Landan and Maddison Brock. His three beloved pets: Gizmo, Cowboy, and Ginger. A special sister-in-law: Gertrude Rose. A host of other relatives and friends also survives.
All services and burial will be private.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
