Sampson Roark, 84 of Warbranch, KY departed this walk of life on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. Sampson was born February 25, 1936 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Lloyd & Polly Collett Roark. He was of the holiness faith and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County except for living in Pineville for a brief time.
In addition to his parents, Sampson was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Nolan Roark; one son David Wayne Roark , brothers, Afton, Eddison, Columbous and Fred Roark; sisters, Sudie Estep, Ophia Griffie, and Rosie Collett; grandchildren, Earl Roger Combs, Shannon Combs, Sampson Brock and Carter Simpson; nephews, Kenneth & Ricky Roark.
Sampson leaves behind one son, Ronald Roark of Herman, TN, four daughters, Carol Adams & Tommy of Yeaddiss, KY, Audrey Roark of Middlesboro, KY, Margie Combs & Earl of Herman, TN and Polly Willoughby & Ken of Versailles, KY; A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive his passing.
Funeral service for Sampson Roark will be held at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Kilburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Sam’s Branch Cemetery at Warbranch. In accordance with mandates set forth by Gov. Beshear, all services will be private.
Arrangements are being handled under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
