Susie Collett Holland, age 76 of Essie, Kentucky widow of the late John Henry Holland passed away peacefully at the Mary Breckinridge A.R.H. Hospital in Hyden, Ky Thursday morning. Susie was born March 24, 1937, to the union of the late Elmer and Delora Collett. She was a homemaker, enjoyed shopping, gardening, watching westerns and the Waltons on T.V. and especially visiting with her family. Susie was a member of the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Delora Collett, late husband John Henry Holland whom she married on May 29, 1954; a daughter Lorene Melton, granddaughter Crystal Wilson, a great granddaughter Paislee Mallison Jackson. Susie is survived by the following relatives: two sons Ronnie Holland and wife Debbie of Roark, Kentucky, Rickie Holland of Essie, Kentucky. Two daughters Brenda Hubbard and husband Tyrone of London, Kentucky, Barbara Nordstrom and husband Fred of Essie, Kentucky. Six brothers Earl and Mary Collett of Stinnett, Kentucky; Kenneth and Linda Collett of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; John and Carolyn Collett of Essie, Kentucky; Marcus and Emily Collett of Roark, Kentucky; Doyle Collett of Essie, Kentucky; Freddie Joe and Rita Collett of Jackson County, Kentucky. Six Sisters Pauline and Fred Collett of Roark, Kentucky; Edith Collett of Roark, Kentucky, Fern Maxwell of Jacksboro, Tennessee; Joyce and Eugene Hunley of Essie, Kentucky; Geraldine & Mason Collett of Essie, Kentucky,and Rosetta & Steve Sizemore of Essie, Kentucky Along with 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church, Essie, Kentucky with Taylor Adams, Carl Brown, David Pennington, and Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowens Creek Cemetery at Essie, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the church after 5 p.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Roy Feltner, Ralph Barrett, Joe Petri, Larry Jackson, Scott Smith, Steve Pennington, Greg Barrett, and Tyler Pennington.
