Mr. Tinsley Mattingly, age 88 of Hyden, Kentucky passed away at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky Friday morning. Tinsley was the son of the late Ramsey and Nellie Morgan Hicks Mattingly. He was born September 26, 1924 in Leslie County, Ky. He worked as a miner, logger, and farmer. Tinsley enjoyed, farming, gardening, running his bull dozer and working his land. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. He loved to share with anyone who was interested in the skills he had gained in gardening and working throughout his life. Nothing pleased him more than to share the bountiful fruits, and vegetables of his labor. He was inspired by utilizing what God had provided him. The strength of his body and the plentiful resources of the earth. And in keeping with his tradition, he would be honored in lieu of bouquets or silk flowers please send living plants such as trees, vegetable plants or perennial flowers. Or make a donation to a charity of your choice or to Bluegrass Hospice. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Rose Mattingly, wife June Mattingly, daughters Sharon Elaine Silva, Faye Clowers and Tabitha Clowers. Brothers, Woodrow Mattingly, Bernard Mattingly, Bill Mattingly, Holt Mattingly, Alonzo Mattingly and Warren Hoskins. Sisters, Rita Gail Mattingly, Juanita Brock, and Great Granddaughter, Zoe Burkhart. Tinsley is survived by two sons, Lonnie E. Bruin of Burns, Oregon, Dwight Mattingly of Bonanza, Oregon; six daughters, Lora A. Cote of Concret, Washington, Delores Reeves (Glenn) of Fortuna, California, Edwina Bordman(Sam) of Eureka, California, Rena Leddington(Dean) of Hyden, Ky., Kaye Thompson(Rick) of Manchester, Ky., Shanda Shepherd(Greg) of Hyden, Ky.. Three Brothers, Ronald Mattingly(Kathy) of Hyden, Ky., Vernon Hoskins(Reba) of Hyden, Ky., and Carlos Hoskins of London, Ky.; Mildred Mattingly Slone of Hyden, Ky.. Son-in-law Ted Silva of Fortuna, California. Fifteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. - Thursday in the chapel of the Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home with Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Side Lane Hyden, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. Thursday. The family entrusted Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home to be in charge of all the arrangements.
