Tom Carlo Collins, age 75, husband of Lena Collins of Big Creek, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Henry and Viney Smith Collins, born April 14, 1944 in Clay County, Kentucky. He was a retired employee of the United States Government. He enjoyed going to church, hunting, and being with his family and grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, G.B. Collins, Roland Collins, and Robert Ray Collins; sisters, Aurie Couch, Martha Shields, Betty Collins, Marie Frost, and Myrtle Tingle; two grandchildren, Willie Curtis Lawson and Tyler Blake Collins.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Lena Smith Collins of Big Creek, Kentucky, two sons, Dexter and Michelle Collins and Scotty and Kimberly Collins, both of Big Creek, Kentucky; five daughters, Patty and James Asher of London, Kentucky, Karen and Willie Lawson of Big Creek, Kentucky, Sharon and Oakley Hatfield of Big Creek, Kentucky, Cassie and Mark Roberts of Big Creek, Kentucky and Charlene and Douglas Jackson of Big Creek, Kentucky; and he raised as his own daughter, Heather Hollon; one brother, Frank and Ellen Collins of Manchester, Kentucky; along with a brother-in-law, Crit and Ellen Smith and a special friend, Troy Gray. Eighteen grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Big Creek Holiness Church with Jerry McKinley Holland, Bobby Holland, Demas Couch, Paul Mitchell and Troy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollon Cemetery at Fish Trap in Clay County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday after 6:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Friday.
The family has entrusted Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home to be in charge of the arrangements.
