Tony E. Lewis

Tony E. Lewis, known by many of his friends and acquaintances as “T.L.” Tony was born June 07, 1969 in Perry County to the union of late Lorenzie & Mary Sams Lewis.  

Tony was united in marriage to Viola Baker on July 10, 1993 at Wooton, Kentucky and to their union were born two sons, Zachary and Casey.

For 38 years, Tony dedicated his life to serving his community through fire, rescue, and medical services.  He was certified as an EMT (36 years).

Tony was one of the founding members of the Wooton Volunteer Fire Department where he was currently serving in the capacity as chief.  

During his years as a firefighter, Tony was active in the Hyden Leslie County Fire Department and the Cutshin Fire Department.  He trained and certified many firefighters as an instructor.  

Tony lived for his family; his grandchildren were his life.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Tony departed this life on January 04, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati.  He was 54 years old. 

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a sister: Rochelle Lewis, one granddaughter: Camellia Lewis, as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Rufus and Ruthie Baker. 

Tony leaves behind his wife: Viola Baker Lewis of Wooton, KY, two sons: Zachary Lewis (Denise) and Casey Lewis, both of Wooton, KY.

Other survivors include two very special people he loved as siblings: Janessa Melton (Arthur) and Billy Adams (Lois), both of Wooton, KY.  Five cherished grandchildren: Daxton Williams, Caiden Baker, Izaya Lewis, Cornella Lewis and Jasper Lewis. 

A funeral service for Tony will be held at 1p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Ora Michael Smith officiating and special words by Preston Hayes.

Interment will follow in the Lewis Cemetery at Wooton, KY.

Tony’s family will receive friends for visitation from 6p.m. – 9p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home chapel.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
