Twila Osborne

Twila Osborne was born on February 24, 1936 in Adolphus, Kentucky to the union of the late Tollie and Alvie Carter O'Neal. Twila was united in marriage to her loving in devoted husband, Amos. By occupation she was a retired case worker. She was employed by L. K. L. P.. Her family was her life and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Twila was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed and took much pride in volunteering for the Thousandsticks Volunteer Fire Department. She gave countless hours to many community activities, including working the food booth at the annual Osborne Brothers Blue Grass Festival. Her husband Amos and her kept numerous foster children. Twila passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Osborne and a host of brothers and sisters. Twila leaves surviving two sons, Ricky Osborne of Tucson, AZ and Jimmy Osborne (Gina) of Spring Hill, FL; three daughters: Debbie Hoskins (Phillip) of Hyden, KY, Delaina Baker (Bill) of Hyden, KY, and Wanda Couch (Pat) of Hyden, KY; one special daughter: Delorse Eversole of Hyden, KY; one brother: Norman O'Neal of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren: Twynell, Joyell, William, Chandler, Makendra, Joshua, Anthony and Alexis; great-grandchildren: Nick, Kory, Jarod, Alicyn, Noah, Rileigh, Gracie, James and Gianna; special friends: Anna Carol Jones, Olga Woods, Sylvia Johnson and Virgie Asher, Bonnie Osborne; her pet companion: Luke; care givers: Hope Lodge at Markey Cancer Center, Mary Breckinridge A. R. H., Hazard A. R. H., nurse, Kelly and the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her passing. The funeral services for Twila Osborne will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Roger Wolfe, Hub Bowling and John Newell officiating. Interment will follow the services at the Osborne Family Cemetery at Hyden, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation, from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home chapel.
