Vanda Jean (Howard) Bowling

Vanda Jean Bowling was born January 06, 1961 in Hyden, KY to the union of the late Mitchell Eugene Howard and the late Dallie Fields Howard.  She was of the Church of Christ faith and by occupation, Vanda was a retired EMT and 911 Dispatcher.  She was united in marriage to Douglas Lee Bowling on November 17, 1979 in Hyden, KY.   She enjoyed flowers and plants and loved going to the lake.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alonzo & Orpha Howard, and maternal grandparents, Malcum and Zelphia Fields.

Vanda leaves behind her loving & devoted husband, Douglas Lee Bowling of Hyden, KY; one son, Douglas Edward Bowling & Tara whom she loved as her own; two brothers, Gary W. Howard and Larry D. Howard & Deborah, both of Hyden, KY; three sisters, Gerema Daugherty of Hyden, KY, Stephanie Jackson of Hyden, KY and Michelle Blaine of Torrance, California. One granddaughter, Carrienona Raine Bowling; special friends, Oleen and Ellis McKnight.  A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. - Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating.  Interment will follow in the Howard Cemetery at Hyden, KY. The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 2 pm, Wednesday at the chapel.

Pallbearers: David Hibbard, Jamie Howard John Howard, Landon Howard, Matthew Jackson and Sean Jackson.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home – Hyden.
