Vernon Barrett

Mr. Vernon Barrett, age 57 of 27 Pine Hill Lane, Roark, KY departed this life on Thursday, March 03, 2011 at the U.K. Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, KY. He was born at Beverley, Kentucky, the son of Elmer Barrett and Fern Collett Hall. He was a life long resident of Leslie County, with the exception of having lived in Chicago, IL. By occupation he was a coal miner and he enjoyed four wheeling, hunting and fishing as his hobbies. He is preceded in death by his step father: Palmer Hall, one brother: Michael Barrett and one sister: Della Rose Barrett. Vernon leaves the following relatives surviving: his father: Elmer Barrett of Barbourville, KY, his mother: Fern Hall of Roark, KY, six daughters: Elisabeth Enrriquez Biggs of London, KY, Keyshia Couch of Corbin, KY, Tabatha Spears & Charles, of Glasco, KY, Chasity Surgeon & Shane of Sulphur Well, KY, Charli Couch of Corbin, KY and Fern Jazzmaun Couch of Bardstown, KY. Two brothers: Donnie Wayne Barrett of Ashland, KY and Robert James Barrett of Stinnett, KY. Five sisters: Deanna Asher of Hoskinston, KY, Terri Smith & Victor of Woodbine, KY, Sheila Nolan of Warbranch, KY, Shelly Barrett & Rusty of Green Back, TN and Paulette Wagers & Gary of Warbranch, KY. One sister-in-law: Terry Lynn Barrett of Stinnett, KY, ten grandchildren: Blake Hubbard and Donovan Hurd; Timothy and Trenton Jones; Halli and Christa Pears, Ryan Spurgeon and Jordyn Brown; Jadyn and Jayda Brown. He is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
