M r. Vernon Hoskins of Stinnett, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, August 20, 2018.  Vernon was born August 11, 1933 at Stinnett, Kentucky to the union of the late Bige Hoskins and the late Rose Hacker Mattingly.  Vernon was a Leslie County Native and by occupation he was employed by the Leslie County Fiscal Court where he worked for the Leslie County Senior Citizens.  Vernon was a well known local musician, playing guitar and banjo.  He enjoyed playing bluegrass music with his picking buddies, spending time with his grandson, and playing music for charities.  Vernon was known for his love for people and his outgoing personality.  Vernon was 85 years old.  In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Morgan;  one brother, Warren Hoskins.

Vernon leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Reba Lowe Hoskins of Stinnett, KY;  one beloved daughter, Rachel Caldwell (Mike) of Stinnett, KY;  one brother, Carlos Hoskins of London, KY;  a half brother, Ronald Mattingly (Kathy) of Stinnett, KY;  a half sister, Mildred Slone of Hyden, KY;  one cherished grandson, Jacob Caldwell of Stinnett, KY;  special friends, Elias "Lish" Collett, Brown Sizemore, Ernest Collett, and Ronnie Long.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive his passing.
