V irginia “Ginny” Cox of Hyden, Kentucky departed this walk of life on November 04, 2018 at the age of 75.  Virginia was born December 19, 1942 in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Alonzo and Orpha Young Howard.  Virginia was a member of the Hyden Church of God.  By occupation Virginia worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor employed by Mary Breckinridge Hospital, Roadway Inn, Leslie County Jail and lastly, Hindel Bowling.  Virginia was united in marriage John William Cox on November 16, 1994 in Indianapolis, IN.  She enjoyed attending church, spending time with family and socializing with friends.  She was also an avid shopper at venders malls and Goodwill.  Above all, Virginia was a devout Christian, dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, John William Cox;  two brothers, Eugene Howard and William Howard;  one sister, Vanda Jean Howard;  grandson, Eric Brandon McKnight; granddaughter, Brandy Marie Brock; sons-in-law, Everett Lee Sheroan, and Edgar Matt Baker.

Virginia leaves behind, one son, David Andrew Brock (Melissa) of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters, Oleen McKnight (Ellis) of Viper, KY, Helen Baker (Jerry Robinson) of Hyden, KY, and Tonya Sheoan of London, KY;  four step-sons:  John W. Cox II (Andrea Fugate), Roger Cox, Brian Cox, and David Cox (Jodi Miller), all of Indianapolis, IN;  two step-daughters, Dawn Cox and Mary Cox, both of Indianapolis, IN;  five brothers, Paul Howard (Carolyn) of Hyden, KY, Alonzo “Bug” Howard, Jr. (Peggy) of Hyden, KY, James Edward Howard (Patty Ann) of Newport, KY, Robert Roland Howard of Hyden, KY, and Bennie Carol Howard (Nancy) of Florence, KY;  four sisters, Juanita Lewis, Betty Doris Griffith (Lloyd), Phronia Begley, and Viola Adams (Clifton), all of Hyden, KY;  eight cherished grandchildren, Nathan Sullivan, Cassandra Sheroan, Leslie McKenney (Joey), Justisse Garrett, Marci Cobb, and Michael Adkins;  fifteen great-grandchildren, Kenna Lewis, Brayden, Bryce, Harper and Cayson McKenney;  Marissa, Micha and MaKyle Cox; Myanna and Montana Cobb; Roger Cox, Jr.; Justisse Garrett; Amylah folsom; Ty Vaulx-Gissara; and Reese Adkins;  A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
