Wilma Lee Melton

Wilma Lee Maggard Melton, age 58 of Wooton Road, Wooton, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at her residence. Wilma was born in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Don and Bonnie Day Maggard. She was a life long resident of Leslie County, by occupation, Wilma was a former employee of the Hazard Nursing Home and former sales clerk at Shoe Show in Hazard, KY. She enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, and reading. Other than her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by her long time companion, Charles Patterson; brother-in-law: Richard Baker.

Wilma is survived by one brother: Larry Maggard (Pauline) of Hazard, KY; two sisters: Katherine Baker of Wooton, KY, and Betty McCarty (Harry) of Monticello, KY; special friends: Leslie Day (Carl) of Smilax, KY, and Jerry Hensley of Wooton, KY; A host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive her passing.

Memorial services for Wilma Lee Maggard will be held at 2:00 P.M. - Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the First Baptist Church at Wooton, KY with Danny Day and Tim Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at the Day Cemetery at Smilax, KY. The family request, expressions of sympathy take place in form of donations to the First Baptist Church at Wooton, Kentucky 41776.
