Winfred Turner

Mr. Winfred Turner, age 76 of Yeaddiss, KY, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, March 04, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. Winfred was born in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Willie Cleveland Turner and the late Martha Lewis Turner. Winfred was of the Pentecostal faith and was a faithful member of the Pine Mountain Church of God at Bledsoe, KY. By occupation, he was a coal miner. He was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Alice Pennington Turner on November 23, 1954. Winfred enjoyed reading the Bible, hunting, gardening, and woodworking.

Other than his parents, Winfred is preceded in death by two brothers: Jim and Hobert Turner; five sisters: Cindy Causey, Gracie Lewis, Mary Burnette, Donna Kay Sizemore, and Tilda Lewis.

Winfred is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Alice Pennington Turner of Yeaddiss, KY; one son: Hurlen Smith (Helen) of Yeaddiss, KY; one daughter: Judy Conner (James H.) of Yeaddiss, KY; one brother: Ronnie Turner (Judy) of Hyden, KY; one cherished grandchild, Jessica Woods (Adam); two great-grandchildren: Logan and Seth Woods. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. - Monday, March 09, 2015 at the Pine Mountain Church of God with Winfred Causey and Kermitt Creech officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner-Caldwell Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY. The family will receive friends after 2:00 P.M. - Sunday at the church.
